Assignment Statuses - Product to Site
Show When Available
This is the main assignment status used on our sites.
The product is shown (discoverable by search and in product lists) if it is available to be bought (has stock, isn’t restricted etc.).
Should the product not be available, then it is removed from search and lists, but its product page is still available (either directly via the URL if you have it, or from a customer’s previous order via their account page), and the product page will report the product as Out Of Stock
.
Hidden
This is a way of explicitly setting a product to be in the same state as Show When Available when the product is not available.
The product will have a product page, while not appearing in search and lists. If you visit the product page directly, it will be shown as Out Of Stock
.
Sold Out
A product set as Sold Out will appear on site (will be in search and lists) but will report as Out Of Stock
.
This is used for products which we expect to come back in stock. For example, if we want customers to be able to see them to place pre-orders.
Always Show
These products are always present on site (in search and lists), and will be Buyable
or Out Of Stock
depending upon their availability.
Hidden Sellable When Available
This status is used for products that are given away via special offers/promotions, mostly as free gifts.
They won’t be searchable or appear in lists, but if available will be buyable (meaning they will appear in basket as free gifts).
They will not appear in the basket if they become unavailable.

Child Product
A child product has a relationship to other products with the same parent product; this relationship is determined by one or more variants.

Linked Product Group
Products, including parent products, can be grouped via a Linked SKU Grouping. This relationship is determined by a single variant.
This grouping is different to a parent/child grouping:
- On list pages all products in the group will appear separately (whereas parent/child groupings only appear once)
- On the PDP, when different variants are selected, the title will change (whereas child products inherit the parent product title)
E.G. products corresponding to the same t-shirt in different sizes could be grouped via a parent product using variant “size”.

Outstanding Order
An outstanding order is an order which is yet to be fulfilled.
Override Site Properties
Site properties can be overridden for a specific site, by specifiying the site and locale.
product.quantity.text(lfint,en_IE)
is an example of what an overridden site property looks like (where ‘lfint’ represents site Look Fantastic and ‘en_IE’ is the locale).
p
Parent Product
A parent product is a dummy product created to relate multiple simple products together via a relationship. A parent product is therefore not purchasable. The child products within a parent product grouping relate to each other by one or more variants.
E.G. products corresponding to the same t-shirt in different sizes could be grouped via a parent product using variant “size”.
PDP
A PDP, or Product Display Page, is the page on the website containing content and information about a particular product; if available, products can be added to the basket from this page.

A product is either a physical or virtual item or group of items, which can be ordered by a customer and fulfilled.
